Art requirements

1. Requirements for layout.
Layout is accepted in electronic forms in Corel Draw 7-13, Adobe Illustrator up to CS3 version, Photoshop programs.
Stroked (vector) elements of card plot are presented in a vector format *.cdr, *.ai, *.eps, plot raster elements - in bitmap based formats *.tif (CMYK mode) with resolution from 300 dpi.
All types are transferred into curves or represent by a separate folder, if text revising is required.
Do not apply compression to the files. Card layout shall be performed in scale 1:1 in CMYK colour system.
Plot (image) of the card shall have a margin for cut 1.5 mm, i.e. its size is to be 89 х 57 mm.
All plot elements, except elements bleed printing, are not advisable to locate closer than 2.5 mm from the card edge, magnetic stripe, signature and erasable panels.

2. Requirements to personalization.
Magnetic stripe - is a data carrier with limited memory volume.
There are 2 types of magnetic stripes:

  • LoCo (Low Coercitive = 300 oersted)

  • HiCo (High Coercitive = 2750 oersted)

Magnetic stripe for the standard reading devices (readers) is made in 12.7 mm wide (0.5 inch) and placed in the distance of 4 mm from the card edge.
There are three tracks on the magnetic stripe, on which it is possible to apply any kind of information.
ATTENTION! Recording to magnetic stripes is possible only by Latin letters, Cyrillic letters may cause error in the work of recording device.

Track 1 - alphanumeric information: up to 76 sign places, all Latin letters to be CAPITAL.
Track 2 - only digits, up to 37 sign places.
Track 3 - only digits, up to 104 sign places.

Signature panel contains special layer on which it is possible to inscribe by ball-point (etc.) pen.
Signature panel may be applied of various size.
Signature panel is placed to a ready-made card, it shall not be placed closer than 1 mm from the card edge.


Bar-code - any industrial types of the bar-codes.
Among the most widespread the following are offered Code 2 of 5, Code 3 of 9, Code 128 (A,B,C), Code 93, EAN-13, EAN-8, UCC/EAN – 128, Interleaved 2 of 5, etc..
Bar-code length depends of coding information and bar-code type. Bar-code shall be placed on the card considering indent not less than 3 mm from any card edge and from magnetic stripe. Requirements to a concrete type of bar-code are specified additional in agreeing on card's layout original. When placing bar-codes, it is necessary to consider their minimally accessible sizes when printing by selected method for further confident reading. Bar-code is printed in black colour; regular background colour is – white. Background of other colour may reduce confidence in bar-code reading.


Embossing - is one of the methods to personalize plastic cards, when symbols are printed out on the ready-made laminated card. After this operation, the tops of texture symbols are covered by foil (gold, silver, etc.) - this process is called typing.
Symbols embossing is possible only in case of card's horizontal orientation.
Embossing is performed by two types of prints:

  • 3 mm high - small (Standard Gothic and Cyrillic)

  • 4.5 mm high - large (Farrington OCR)

Large print can contain only digits: 0123456789
Small print - digits and capital letters of Russian and English alphabets.
Maximal number of symbols in the line if applying:

  • 4.5 mm print - 20 symbols ~75 mm., including space bars

  • 3 mm print - 30 symbols ~75 mm., including space bars

Embossing shall be placed in the distance of not less than 5 mm from any card edge.


3. Data base requirements:
Data base files (*.xls ) are being performed in Excel.
Lines format is textual.
Number of records in the lines of data bases shall correspond to the cards quality to be ordered. Forward data base files to email - info@infinity.ua.
